Description

Are you a Contractor interested in working with Alberta Forestry and Parks wildfire operations? Agreements for Wildland Engines and Tenders are now available for the upcoming wildfire season. The Forestry Division, which is responsible for wildfire presuppression and suppression efforts in the Forest Protection Area (FPA) of Alberta, requires Contractors to provide Wildland Engines and Tenders, complete with trained personnel, to assist with wildfire efforts.

Engines (Type 4, 5, 6, and 7) and Tenders (Tactical Types 1 and 2) are accepted under this Agreement. There is no guarantee of work under the terms and conditions of the Agreement, and Contractors are placed on a call rotation list within their Forest Area. This is a one-year Agreement, with the possibility of two one-year extensions.

Payment of Engines and Tenders is based on the list in “Schedule A”, depending on the Type of Engine or Tender provided. All Engines/Tenders and equipment shall be well maintained and in good working order prior to services commencing. Contactors must supply trained personnel that meet standards for each Engine/Tender stated in “Schedule C”, and ensure they are equipped with the appropriate personal safety equipment. To qualify for an Agreement, Contractors must provide evidence of their Engine or Tender Type as it relates to the specifications listed in “Schedule A”, proof of training as listed in “Schedule C”, a service history as listed in “Schedule C”, a valid Certificate of Recognition (COR) or Small Employer Certificate of Recognition (SECOR) or equivalent certifying program recognized by the Alberta Workplace Health and Safety Partnerships Program, as well as a certificate of insurance (“Schedule E”) satisfying the requirements of the Agreement.

Please send submissions to your local Forest Area (see Section 9(6) of the contract).
