Description
Forestry and Parks of Alberta is seeking proposals from qualified mental health counseling service providers. The project aims to deliver both in-person and remote mental health supports for the Forestry Division March 31, 2025 – October 31, 2025. This service is required on an “as-needed” basis with no guarantee of work. This service will support the mental well-being of employees, particularly those involved in wildfire operations, ensuring they have access to necessary mental health services both in the field and remotely.
Provide a minimum of three (3) mental health counselors qualified to provide in-person support to first responders at various locations throughout the Province concurrently. Locations include:
• Forest Areas across the province (10 areas),
• Hinton Training Centre (HTC),
• Alberta Tree Improvement Seed Centre (ATISC) located in Smoky Lake,
• Provincial Warehouse - Wildfire Telecommunications and Facilities (PWTF) located in Edmonton,
• Staff located in the J. G. O'Donoghue Building (JGO) including the Alberta Wildfire Coordination Centre (AWCC) and;
• Temporary Fire camps located throughout Alberta.
The successful proponents will also be required to provide remote services via phone and online platforms as required.
Up to three (3) contracts may be awarded with services requested using a call-down list in accordance with 6.3 – Proposal Evaluation Criteria. The call-down list will be established with the highest scoring proposal in the first call position followed by the second and third. Successful Proponents will provide staff that are trained at their expense, to deliver the Services throughout the province, and will ensure their staff are equipped with all necessary personal protective equipment and supplies needed for their profession.
