Description
The Federal Foreign Office (AA) operates around 225 missions abroad worldwide. A secure and reliable local telecommunications connection is essential for carrying out central foreign affairs tasks there. To this end, the AA purchases provider services on the market.
The current contract for provider services ends in 2026 and must be put out to tender again. In addition to providing security of supply for the foreign locations, the new provider must also plan, implement and maintain a wide area network (WAN) for the AA. The focus of the contract is on providing a reliable, secure and scalable network infrastructure that extends across all locations and guarantees a high quality of service to them, thus ensuring global communication. The challenge here is to guarantee the communication supply even at locations with special characteristics, such as remote countries and crisis regions, where the AA still maintains its location and communication must therefore be maintained.
In view of the growing demands on networking and data transmission between the AA's locations, the implementation of a high-performance WAN is necessary in order to optimize business processes and increase efficiency, if possible via fully automated systems without high service costs on site. The network infrastructure must also be stable, resilient and efficient in times of crisis, as far as this is technically possible.
In order to optimally achieve the listed features, all currently available technologies should be able to be used for the majority of properties (technology openness). In individual cases, the connection will be exclusively via satellite.
The contract should also offer flexibility with regard to future developments and changes in connection requirements. This applies in particular to the quality of supply (bandwidths, SLAs depending on location and requirements) as well as service quality and support.
As a first step, we would like to invite all interested companies to an information meeting at which we will provide information on the main points of the contract and explain the planned procedure.
If your company is interested, you must complete and sign the documents provided on the website http://www.auswaertiges-amt.de/ausschreibungen by 29.11.2024 10:00 a.m. and return them by email to the contact address provided (einkaufsteam3@bfaa.bund.de). The documents for the expression of interest procedure are made available free of charge on the Federal Foreign Office website. The documents can be downloaded without registration.
The information meeting is expected to take place in the 49th/50th week of 2024.
