May 12, 2023BCTS BC Bid Solicitation Standard 9,658.70 lineal meters of compacted well-graded 25mm minus surfacing materials with culvert and ditch-line cleaning on Lois Forest Service Road system. Pre-grade and shape of application areas to enhance bonding of new surfacing materials with existing roadway. Supply, load, haul, place, grade and compaction of well graded crushed gravel aggregate meeting 25mm minus Well Graded Base Course Aggregate (WGB) aggregate specifications on 9,648.70 lineal meters of FSR as per attached schedules and specifications. Clean all existing ditches to a minimum depth of 75 centimeters deep by 1 meter wide, including re-establishment / cleaning of all culvert inlet sumps and outlets. The result will be a well-drained road system. All ditch-line and culvert cleaning to be completed prior to surfacing operations. Final grade to be compacted to a 15-centimeter depth and shall be free from organic matter or other deleterious materials. Oversize materials that cannot be accommodated in the layer shall be removed at the source or on the road and shall be disposed of as directed by the Ministry Representative. All crushed granular surfacing material used on this project must be a well gradated crushed aggregate and must conform to the Ministry of Transportation and Highways “STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION 2001 (VOLUME 1 OF 2)” TABLE 202 – C (Appendix #3) WELL GRADED BASE COURSE AGGREGATE - 25MM (crushed gravel having a minimum three fresh fractured faces). Aggregate is to be non-acid producing. See the “Schedule C - Project Specifications” for specific works required. Changes impacting BCTS clients include new training requirements (Table 008-1, 008-1A, Tailgate Training, SFI AwarenessMay 12, 2023documents, and new Indigenous rights awareness training, as well as changes to training frequency and a new continuing education component). In addition, note changes to EMS/SFM Environmental Field Procedures and Incident Reporting Procedures which occurred June 1, 2022.Supervisors and workers will need to be familiar with these changes prior to commencement of operations.
