Germany - Elevator retrofit and barrier-free conversion of the above-ground Niddapark light rail station - platform work, civil engineering

Description

Stadtwerke Verkehrsgesellschaft Frankfurt am Main mbH (VGF for short) is planning the barrier-free conversion of the "Niddapark" light rail station. The project includes all transportation facilities, such as road traffic, track and platform facilities with the associated technical equipment as well as the construction of three disabled-accessible passenger elevators.
The station has three levels:
- Street level (approx. 101.07m above sea level, =+/- 0.00)
- Distribution or "barrier" level (approx. +104.46 m above sea level, = approx. + 3.39 m)
- Access structures with platforms (approx. 109.83 m above sea level, = approx. +8.76 m)
The concentration of the measures described below is intended to minimize the unavoidable
unavoidable disruption to passengers and local residents caused by construction work
be minimized. The individual construction phases have been coordinated in advance in close cooperation with Verkehrsgesellschaft Frankfurt am Main mbH and the City of Frankfurt (Amt 66).

The following services, among others, are to be provided in this project.
Civil engineering of traffic facilities:
- Dismantling of the platforms incl. platform equipment
- Dismantling of the platform edge
- Dismantling of the existing empty conduit routes
- Dismantling of the existing drainage system
- Construction of the platform incl. foundations for platform equipment
- Installation of the elevation stone
- Installation of the EPDM profile
- Construction of the platform surface incl. laying of the tactile guidance system
- Construction of the supply and disposal systems
- Extension of the platform drainage system
