Description
The client wishes to move to the next generation of electronic passports (e-passports) in line with International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) standards and international best practices. E-passports offer enhanced security features and contain a chip in which storing the bearer's personal information, as well as biometric information like facial image.
The client has already appointed a consultancy firm to prepare the request for proposal (tender) document to be used to invite potential bidders to submit a proposal (bid) for the implementation of the project. In light of the sensitivity and the security dimension involved in such a project, this project will go by restricted bidding, that is, to invite a limited number of companies to submit their proposal for the project.
In this context, we are compiling a list of UK firms which we may consider for the project. The company should:
- be a valid, bonafide legal entity
- have experience implementing an e-passport project in one or more countries
- have the technical and financial means to undertake a project in market and to work with a local company as partner
The detailed requirements and specifications in the form of the request for proposal document will be made available in due course to the retained firms for the preparation of their proposal.
