PURPOSE OF CALL FOR TENDERS :
The purpose of this call for tenders is to retain the services of a contractor for the major renovation work on lot 2 for Nesbitt Elementary School located at 6108 8th Avenue, Montreal, QC H1Y 2M2.
TENDER DOCUMENTS :
Tender documents will be available on SEAO (www.seao.ca) as of October 2, 2023.
The fees for obtaining the documents, as well as all payment terms, are set by and payable to SEAO.
SITE VISIT :
The English Montreal School Board invites tendering contractors and subcontractors to an information session, the purpose of which is to provide information on the requirements to be met and to answer questions on any aspect of the call for tenders.

This information session, followed by a site visit for bidders and bidding subcontractors, will be held on October 23, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Nesbitt Primary School, rendez-vous at the main entrance.
This is an opportunity for bidders and bidding subcontractors to familiarize themselves with the work site and its condition. No one can claim to be unaware of the conditions prevailing at the time the work is to be carried out.
Attendance is strongly recommended. No other visits will be made.
Please note that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, bidders' visits may be cancelled. However, bidders will be able to take an open (outdoor) tour of the site if it is accessible. However, please respect the instructions and prevention and safety measures put in place by the Provincial Government and do not disturb school activities during school operating hours.
QUESTIONS FROM BIDDERS :
All questions relating to this call for tenders must be sent in writing by e-mail to Martin Lefebvre , Architect, at the following e-mail address: mlefebvre@clarchitecte.ca and Evelyne Hornblower , Architect, at the following e-mail address: ehornblower@clarchitectes.ca . The CSEM project manager Mariana Osorio ( mosorio@emsb.qc.ca ) must be copied on all communications.

Any verbal or written commitment obtained from another person is considered invalid and cannot bind the English Montreal School Board.

RESTRICTION:
Contractors wishing to bid must not be on the RBQ list with a restricted license preventing them from performing work of a public nature.

RESPONSIBILITY :
Tenderers are responsible for the choice of subcontractors, both for their solvency and for the content of their bids.

BID SECURITY :
All bids must be accompanied by a bid security representing 10% of the total amount of the bid, plus applicable taxes, in favour of the English Montreal School Board. This bid security must be presented in one of the following forms:
A certified cheque or irrevocable letter of guarantee issued by a financial institution, or a bid bond issued by a financial institution that is an insurer holding a licence issued in accordance with the Insurance Act authorizing it to practice surety insurance, a trust company licensed under the Savings Companies Act, a financial services cooperative or a bank within the meaning of the Bank Act, in accordance with the bond form appended to the call for tenders.

English Montreal School Board office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday.
If the EMSB offices are closed for any reason on the day indicated for the opening of Tenders, the opening will take place at the same time as the originally scheduled time, on the next working day following the date originally indicated.
All bids received by the closing date and time will be opened at the time and place specified. All bids received after this time will be automatically rejected.
