Jamaica - Contractor to build new housing development

Description

Housing Agency of Jamaica would like to construct a new housing development at 81 Bay Farm Road, Kingston. This fulfills its mandate and contributes to its quota of the Government of Jamaica (GOJ) 5-year housing plan, announced in 2020.

The development consists of the construction of 6 apartment buildings comprising:

• 72 housing solutions (apartments)
• 90 parking spaces
• amenities
• guardhouse
• a gated entrance
• secure perimeter fencing
• an underground water storage tank for drinking water to serve the residents of the complex 
• sewage conveyancing to the National Water Commissions's facility at Soapberry

Project objective

The scope of the work includes the construction of 72 housing (apartments) solutions in 6 blocks (each block will consist of 3 storeys with 4 units measuring approximately 530 ft2/49.23M2) per floor at 81 Bay Farm Road, to include supporting infrastructure works.

Further objectives include:

1.     Construction of 72 housing solutions

2.     Construction and installation of potable water supply and appurtenances

3.     Installation of sewerage conveyance pipelines and appurtenances

4.     Provision of electricity and streetlights within the development

5.     Provision of paved roadways and verges

6.     Provision of stormwater drainage system for the development

7.     Provision of amenity areas, as provided on the approved plans

Construction Period

Housing Agency of Jamaica estimates that the project construction will take up to 19 months.
