Description

The engagement of a Chief Medical Officer is to ensure that South Australian Sports Institute (SASI) athletes have access to a highly experienced and knowledgeable physician who specialises in sports medicine. The need is to reduce the impact of illness and injury on athlete availability for training and competition and support athlete wellbeing.
Scope of work
The physician services required will include but not be limited to:

Provide medical services to identified athletes and sport programs and coordinate the treatment of these athletes should they need referrals to other specialists.
Effectively interact and integrate with the physiotherapy team and other sports science sports medicine services
Ensure that SASI provides best practice for medical service delivery.
Provide expertise and input into SASI medical and anti-doping related policies and procedures.
Input all details of athlete consultations/service provision into the Athlete Management System (AMS) in a timely manner.
