Mission d'assistance à maitrise d'ouvrage (AMO) concernant l'évolution et l'augmentation du niveau de service du data center régional Haut-de-France du Ministère de l'enseignement supérieur et de la recherche implanté à l'Université de Lille.
The present consultation concerns a project management assistance mission (AMO) concerning the evolution and increase of the service level of the Haut-de-France regional data center of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research located at the University of Lille.
The data center is located in the M4 building at the Cité Scientifique in Villeneuve d'Ascq. This is a ground-floor building with 2,415m² of floor space, housing the DGDNUM department, of which approximately 350m² is dedicated to the data center.
The mission of the data center is to host the digital infrastructures of various players in the Higher Education and Research (ESR) sector. The structures hosted are both internal and external to the University. The various infrastructures are managed by the staff of these different structures.
The University of Lille was awarded the label in 2020, enabling it to begin increasing the reliability and capacity of its datacenter.
Following the certification of the Lille data center, the University undertook a state-of-the-art upgrade. The work was divided into three phases:
- Phase 1 (completed): extension to 58 bays and 450 kW of climatic power - The main objectives of this phase were to re-urbanize the data center, renew the air conditioning, fire protection and supervision systems, and upgrade the power supply network;
- Phase 2 (current): expansion to 88 bays and 650 kW of climatic power - This phase will involve extending the data center's hosting capacity, securing the power supply to improve availability (Tier3 expected), extending the air-conditioning system to support the additional IT load, and aiming to improve PUE. These interventions will be questioned and clarified as part of the general diagnosis of the facility and the drafting of the program.
