Description
As part of the LIFE BOVAR project, species protection measures are being implemented for the strictly protected amphibian species yellow-bellied toad, natterjack toad, midwife toad and great crested newt. The creation of small and very small bodies of water as reproduction habitats is one of the key measures.
In some project areas, due to fissured soil material and/or as an adaptation to climate change and the resulting prolonged dry periods, the construction of foil ponds as reproduction waters is planned. Membrane ponds for the target species natterjack toad and yellow-bellied toad must be equipped with a drain so that they can be drained periodically to regulate predators and competitors.
The volume of the framework agreement comprises approx. eight foil ponds.
An order volume of approx. six foil ponds with drainage and two foil ponds without drainage as well as a rockfill is planned. The number of foil pond locations and foil ponds specified in the specifications is based on a conscientious estimate by the client for the term of this framework agreement. The invitation to tender is subject to the approval of the landowners and the authorities granting approval. The Contractor shall not be entitled to call up a specific contingent of services or a specific number of foil ponds/foil pond locations.
The construction services to be provided shall be remunerated per foil pond location in accordance with the service specifications 2.2-2.5.
The construction briefing, ecological construction supervision and construction acceptance shall be carried out by project staff of NABU Niedersachsen as the client.
Before submitting a tender, the contractor must obtain information about access options, the condition of the areas and other factors affecting pricing on site. A site inspection of all four sites with the client is therefore mandatory.
