Description

A government department has introduced a new fast-track route to direct entry of the approved contractors list which:

  • is open to new applicants
  • has no probationary mechanism
  • accepts non-local contract experience

Applicants:

  • need to have completed at least one contract of value HK$2 billion within the past seven years
  • must possess or set up a place of business in Hong Kong

Development projects are planned in the following categories:

  • public housing
  • hospital development
  • urban renewal
  • transport infrastructure

in growth areas such as Northern Metropolis and Kau Yi Chau Artificial Islands.

Total expenditure on public works will reach HK$90 billion annually.
