Description
The provision of dedicated training facilities and equipment is a critical enabler for personnel to maintain their fitness. It is the intention of the Irish Defence Forces to provide state of the art fitness and training facilities at several key locations. Through the Infrastructure Development Plan new gymnasia have been constructed in Stephens Barracks, Kilkenny and Sarsfields Barracks, Limerick. Further projects are planned for the construction of new gymnasia in Gormanston, Haulbowline, Renmore and Baldonnel. Gym equipment and parts are now required to fit out nineteen (19) gymnasia in Defence Force’s installations at home, on board eight (8) Naval Service ships, and in overseas locations, as may be determined.
