Description
Temple University (“Temple”) is seeking qualified contractors to bid on work for the Electrical Package for Temple’s Combined Heat and Power Plant Project (the “Project”), located at 1800 N. 10th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19122.The proposed renovations will be in the Central Steam Plant located on Temple’s main campus. The Project involves the removal of the four existing water tube boilers and their replacement with a Solar Turbines Taurus 60 combustion turbine generator coupled to a Rentech heat recovery steam generator with the related mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection, and structural infrastructure to support the new equipment. This Project is subject to a Delegation Agreement between Temple, the Pennsylvania Department of General Services and the Governor’s Office of the Budget. This Project will be a multi-prime project delivered pursuant to a multi-prime contract delivery structure. The Prime Contractors will include: General Construction, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing and Fire Protection, and each other contractor identified by Temple as being a Prime Contractor for the Project and which has been engaged directly by Temple to perform construction or supply machinery, materials, equipment or labor for construction of the Project. Electrical The Scope of Work for the Electrical Package shall include all necessary services, Work, labor, materials, supervision, tools, supplies, equipment, insurance, and applicable taxes necessary to complete Electrical Package as shown in the Contract Documents for the Project. The Scope of Work for the Electrical Package is further specified in the Agreement, the Scope of Work, the Plans and Specifications, and other documents that will be uploaded to TUebid as part of the solicitation. Inflation Reduction Act Income Tax Credits - Prevailing Wage and Domestic Content RequirementsTemple is seeking certain Inflation Reduction Act (“IRA”) income tax credits in connection with the Project that will require the Prime Contractors to comply with certain prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements and domestic content requirements under the IRA, to be specified in the Agreement that will be uploaded to TUebid as part of the solicitation.Release of Electrical PackageThe Electrical Package is tentatively scheduled to be released for bid on November 21, 2024, with bids to be due on December 19, 2024.All bidding information is released and processed through TUebid, Temple’s on-line solicitation management system.To be invited to participate in the bidding process through TUebid, interested parties must contact Naomi Greenberg via e-mail at projects@temple.edu for written instructions by no later than 2:00 p.m. EST, November 14, 2024 Insert the wording “Electrical Package - Vendor Registration” in the subject line.If you are already registered as a Temple vendor and in the TUebid system, you must indicate your interest in this Project by contacting Naomi Greenberg via e-mail at projects@temple.edu by no later than 2:00 p.m. EST, November 14, 2024.
