Description

Emergency planning services are being sought for the Calling Lakes Wildfire Response Initiative.  Five communities in the Calling Lakes region received a Targeted Sector Support grant from the Saskatchewan government.  With a proven track record of collaboration, the communitites are working together to address the shared threat of wildfire.  The project has two planks:  1) the creation of a resouce inventory of volunteers, equipment, and services.  Each municipality will submit their list of resources to be entered into a reigstry that will be populated onto a geo-spatial mapping system.  The inventory must be compliant with all provincial privacy legislation and regulations.  2)  the development of a structure protection program, including training, public education, and recommencations for materials and resources.  The Calling Lakes region is centered in the Qu'Appelle Valley in Saskatchewan, around the four lakes located east and west of the town of Fort Qu'Appelle.
