1.2 Purpose of the call for tenders
L'ORGANISME PUBLIC wishes to proceed with a call for tenders (call for applications for professional services) concerning the construction of a new gymnasium at Jacques-Plante school in Shawinigan (St-Georges-de-Champlain sector).
1.2.1. Planned work
Considering the lack of indoor recreational infrastructures adapted to the clientele, the presence of unused or underutilized outdoor spaces, and the absence of vegetated areas, the project calls for the addition of recreational, sports and outdoor infrastructures with the objective of :
- Equip the school with a new gymnasium that adequately meets the school's sporting vocation and students' needs, and promotes universal accessibility;
- Create an environment conducive to the acquisition of healthy lifestyle habits for all clienteles attending the school;
- Provide the community with access to infrastructures that can be used by children and adults who do not attend the school;
- Maximize the use of existing spaces through new interior and exterior layouts;
- Create a strong link and maximize the openness of the gymnasium to the landscaped outdoor grounds, making access to the facilities fluid and natural between indoors and outdoors;
- Combat heat islands and provide the facility with landscaped green spaces offering a variety of areas for teaching, relaxation, eating and self-expression.
Without being exhaustive, the work includes 400 square metres of landscaping for :
- A single gymnasium ;
- A warehouse ;
- Changing rooms ;
- Toilets;
- Office;
- Equipment room;
- A link with the school and circulation areas.
In addition to this expansion work, we've also added :
- 140 square meters of redevelopment work, including upgrading the existing multi-purpose room to offer alternative activities;
- Construction of a new Dek Hockey surface;
- The construction of a new dining and rest area, as well as a new outdoor multi-purpose area.
