"The communication column supports the organisation from three departments: the communication directorate, the communication department of the Police Services Centre (PDC) and the communication departments within the units. The communication directorate consists of the Media and Publicity and Advice and Editorial departments. Internally, it focuses on the positioning, identity and branding of the Police. To this end, it supports processes in the areas of culture, behaviour and leadership. Within the Board, the national spokespersons are in charge of contacts with the media on national issues and the management of the Police. In addition, the Management Board focuses on the reputation of the Police, relations with stakeholders, the primary process and the cooperation between the Police and citizens. Finally, the communication department is responsible for activities that have a national impact and the PDC Communication Department has three departments: Account and Advice, Innovation and Research and Corps Media. The Communication Department provides communication advice on national issues and takes care of the production of the resulting means of communication. It collects and unlocks best practices for the unit's communication departments. The Communication Department also acts as a communications department for the operations of the Police Services Centre. The service initiates innovation and professional development and facilitates training and coaching for all communication professionals within the Police Force. It also takes care of the national editorial function for the intranet, politie.nl, the staff magazine, investigative communication and the social media accounts of the Police. The communication departments in the units support their unit management and are responsible for the communication tasks that take place close to the operation. For example, the units are responsible for speaking up in the event of local incidents and advise the district teams on communications relating to local safety issues. To this end, they work within the frameworks and policies drawn up by the management. The communication departments in the units have two teams: Media and Publicity and Advice and Editing. For the communication category, the police are regularly looking for professionals such as:- junior communication advisors,- medior communication advisors,- senior communication advisors,- copywriters,- editors,- spokespersons.In 2018 and 2019, an average of twenty questions a year have been put out for the communication category. The Police intends to use the category for a period of five years, starting 21.3.2020, with an option to extend it twice for a period of twelve months.
