Description

Transport Canada requires the services of a Contractor to undertake an audit of a Ferry Operator to ensure:
• compliance with Canadian statutes, including those related to the International Maritime Organization (IMO);
• asset maintenance is being carried in accordance with planned and clear maintenance schedules, OEM supplier recommendations, and industry best practices. Procedures and processes are in place to monitor and track causes of equipment or machinery failures;
• that the operator’s safety management system (SMS) complies with best practices, including related to emergency management; and
• operator’s risk management practices and crewing practices are consistent with industry best practice.
The purpose of the audit is to identify any deficiencies and to make recommendations with regard to action that should be taken to address any potential deficiencies.
