Description
The existing Freiherr-vom-Stein school center has undergone major changes in recent years, both in terms of school type and construction. The Hauptschule has been converted into a comprehensive school and the existing Realschule is due to close in the 2025/2026 school year. The grammar school, which is also part of the school center, will be structurally linked to the comprehensive school via a connecting building with a canteen at the start of the new school year on 22.08.2024. It was also decided that the comprehensive school will have five classes due to the growing number of pupils. As the grammar school also has five pupils, the school center will have a total of ten pupils. Against this backdrop, the city of Rösrath is looking for a total contractor to plan and construct a new three-storey school building to expand the school center as part of the tendering process. The new building is to be put into operation at the start of the 2026/2027 school year. The extension is to be built to the east of the existing school building.
