Description

SAP R/3 (business modules FI/FI-AA/CO/MM/PM/HR/SD/PSM) was introduced as the ERP system at MHH in 1998. In 2007, the modules IS-H = Industry Solutions Healthcare for patient administration and billing and i.s.h.med = medical workstation were added. 20 years later, the system is outdated and needs to be replaced. Support is guaranteed until the software products expire at the end of 2030 (subject to a surcharge from 2027), and further development will be limited to rudimentary functions (e.g. implementation of legal requirements).MHH opts for SAP's new ERP environment/platform SAP S/4HANA in the Private Cloud Edition as the successor solution. In order to achieve a modern and process-oriented organization, all tasks and responsibilities of business management and administration at Hannover Medical School are to be mapped as end-to-end processes on the basis of SAP platform technology (release S/4HANA). The implementation is to follow the best-practice approach. In addition to the technological transformation, this also requires an organizational transformation in line with the chosen principle, and the need for a new ERP system is anchored in the objectives and fields of action in the MHH digital strategy adopted in 2021. This is not only of great importance for the efficient and legally compliant design of administrative processes, but also increasingly determines the attractiveness of jobs and currently has a lasting effect on employee satisfaction. The conversion to SAP S/4HANA now offers MHH the opportunity to rethink its processes and enable efficiency gains.A separate staff unit has been set up for the implementation, which reports directly to the Board Member for Business Management and Administration and works closely with MHH Information Technology in a coordinated manner. The project is to be managed by a dual leadership team of IT and departmental experts. IT and process governance is to be defined as part of the implementation.objective:This award procedure addresses the change manager, who is responsible for the design and implementation of the organizational changes in close cooperation with the S/4HANA technology project.change management should ensure that the technological and procedural changes are understood, accepted and successfully implemented by the employees. The organizational restructuring that results from the introduction of SAP S/4HANA must also be accompanied and supported.there is pressure to change the organization and the structures of the affected departments, the effects of which should be accompanied by professional change management.the target organization must have an efficient structure that follows the primacy of end-to-end processes. The process specifications are provided from the S/4HANA technology project. The change facilitator will conceptually derive and implement the necessary measures to adapt the structures and organizational elements of MHH. The change facilitator must have strong knowledge of the structure and functioning of university hospitals as well as the ability to implement business process management (including the development of a consistent business process map for administration) in connection with the introduction of SAP S/4HANA. Equally important is an excellent qualification of the partner in the methods of modern change management. The support service is provided in parallel to the closely interlinked S/4HANA technology project with a focus on the organizational transformation.
