Description

As part of the CO2-neutral redesign of the Emschergenossenschaft headquarters at Kronprinzenstraße 24 in Essen, the Emschergenossenschaft is planning to extensively redesign the inner courtyard, the outdoor areas around the perimeter of the block and the roof areas.

The plan for the inner courtyard is to remove the fully sealed area. In future, these areas will be replaced by greenery, water features and places with a special quality of stay. To implement the new plans, the existing buildings in the inner courtyard must first be demolished and all structural connections restored. The inner courtyard is to be equipped with five parking spaces in future. Sufficient covered bicycle parking spaces with and without charging infrastructure are also to be created in the inner courtyard. The charging points are to be powered by a renewable PV system. A cistern is also to be installed in the inner courtyard to ensure the sustainable use of water.
The outdoor areas of the existing buildings A, B and F will be refurbished as part of the redesign measures to improve the aesthetic and functional aspects of the site. To this end, the planting beds are to be integrated into the overall open space planning concept. In addition, an outdoor catering area is to be created in a section of the façade.
The previously largely unused roof areas are to be developed into high-quality recreational areas for employees as part of the measures. For example, work areas are to be created on the roof of component A, which will offer a place for professional exchange in small groups or a private space for telephone calls. The plans also include the creation of a retention roof on the BTA roof and a combination of intensive and extensive greening of roof areas B and E.

The aim is to create a positive working environment and contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions with the new planning of the outdoor facilities.

To this end, the following planning services Lph 5-9 for the open spaces of components A, B and E
are put out to tender.
- Inner courtyard
- Outdoor areas
- Roof areas
