Description
Cégep de Granby will soon begin construction of a building that will link the main pavilion to Notre-Dame Church. This new building will house the future Institut Technologique (IT) of the Cégep de Granby. The IT will offer training in physical techniques that meet the needs of the region's industrial sector.
The purpose of this public call for tenders is to award a contract to an archaeologist who will be responsible for directing the fieldwork, analyzing and interpreting the results, and writing the report. He or she must be present on site throughout the fieldwork.
The bidder shall, but is not limited to:
§ Assess the number of graves in the intervention area.
§ Verify the existence of non-funerary archaeological traces within the intervention zone.
§ Carry out a complete excavation of the graves and non-funerary archaeological traces present within the intervention zone.
§ Collect samples for specialized analysis, if appropriate.
§ Analyze the results and integrate data from previous interventions, as well as from specialized analyses if applicable, in order to better understand the use of the space in the former Granby parish cemetery, as well as any other occupations encountered.
§ Produce a research report.
