MTP-100
Portable aviation data link test set that can be supplied with various customer selected
software applications for RF monitoring or for emulating either ground systems or data
link equipped aircraft.
Equal items must meet the minimum specifications/capabilities:
Be a single compact hardware/software combined assembled portable unit
Ensure easy access to any and all hard drives for easy removal/replacement

Provide assessment functionality
Be installed in a lockable ruggedized carry case
Have no less than 4 hours battery life enabling portable operation at 100% capability.
Include hardware and software functionality required by but not limited to Video Display
Broadcast (VDB) Generator and Programmable VHF Data Link (VDL) software
applications.
Have current ability to obtain authentic data required to allow validation and training
Have current ability to shadow live operations. Capture real time events.
Have current ability to perform simulated events
Be a tested fielded unit, not item under development
Include software to conduct:
o ACARS (ARINC 618) testing against an Aircraft over VHF - Simulates a POA
Ground Station
o VDL Mode 2 (ARINC 631) testing against an Aircraft over VHF - Simulates VDL
Mode 2 Ground Station
o DO-258A/ED-100A interop testing against a FANS equipped Aircraft over VHF -
Simulates FANS Ground Network and ATC
o DO-280B/ED-110B interop testing against an ATN equipped Aircraft over VHF -
Simulates ATN Ground Network and ATC
Have current ability to simulate traffic from one or multiple aircraft.
Have current ability for controllers to exchange simulation messages based on authentic data
Have flexibility to test aircraft in multiple locations
Have current ability to act as aircraft or ground test station
Have current ability to test signal strength at VHF Data Link (VDL) ground stations
Have current capability to test network components or check connection to communication
provider networks
Allow hardware testing/development of AEEC 618 ACARS data communications which:
o Interfaces with PC via RS-232 serial and USB ports
o Interface with compatible VHF transceiver to operate at the RF level
o Has Ethernet interface for custom license applications.
Have data communication software for aviation and aerospace
Include data communication software for the Aeronautical Telecommunication Network
(ATN)
Have software to:
o Display formatted, Display All traffic
o Test session logs capable of recall and display in identical format
o Interface menu driven
o Participate in, monitor or log communications
o Be customized
o Be able to define an environment operational or test, real time or simulation
o Allow operator modify messages at the bit level and send
Interface as integral component of test Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting
System (ACARS) over Inmarsat test platform
Be functionally capable as test asset for adversarial and functional testing
Support new test platform functionality with specific baseline testing
Monitor signal strength and tests ACARS, Aeronautical Test Networks (ATN)-Controller
Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC) and Future Air Navigation System (FANS)
Emulate operation VDL mode to ground station
