Description
Staatsbosbeheer is conducting this procurement process for the purpose of establishing a Dynamic Acquisition System (DAS) for, not exhaustively, planting trees and shrubs in forests and landscapes.
The Forestry Commission plants trees and shrubs annually, primarily in the form of forest plantings, springs and stakes. And occasionally avenue trees and plugs. This is part of the strategy for strengthening forest resilience and increasing forest cover. The focus is on establishing new forest and replanting ash and Norway spruce forests, which are dying en masse due to diseases, pests and climate change. But planting trees in healthy forests to increase mixing is also part of the strategy. These tasks play out in all provinces, although the emphases vary greatly. In one province, more new forest will be planted, while in another province, replanting of ash forests is the main issue. However, the work is largely similar.
