Description
Lecture and Laboratory based teaching of Equine Health and Disease and Equine Health and Environmental Management. Provision of technical services and consumables to service laboratory sessions; Supervision of Final Year Projects, Ad hoc laboratory diagnostic services to support Equine Science programmes. The supplier will provide lectures and laboratory sessions to Equine Science students on the Certificate, Diploma and Degree programmes in autumn and spring semesters. The lecture content should be current and research-focused on equine infectious and non-infectious diseases, environmental physiology and management of the environment to optimise animal health. Lectures are to be delivered by scientists with a detailed overview of the global industry and research trends and provide an active and current interest in cutting-edge equine research. The supplier must inform students on recent research developments in equine biosecurity, international movement control and epidemiology. Provide cutting-edge laboratory sessions in specialist equine diagnostics including bacterial culture, immunoglobulin screening, virus isolation tests, complement fixation tests, laboratory training (microbiology, pathology and virology). The supplier will provide laboratory consumables for equine diagnostic laboratories including microbiological plates, cytology smears, ELISA plates, immunoglobulin spot tests; anatomical samples (split limbs, heads, plucks), anatomy and pathology slides etc. A total of 96 hours teaching over two academic semesters required for approx. 30 students at each lecture and laboratory session.
