October 25, 2024 NOTICE TO APPLICANTS ADDENDUM NO. ONE (1) Ichetucknee Springs State Park - Road Repair DEP BID NO. BDC25-24/25 TO BIDDERS AND PLAN HOLDERS ON THE ABOVE REFERENCED PROJECT: PLEASE NOTE CONTENTS HEREIN AND INCLUDE, SIGNED, WITH YOUR BID SUBMISSION. It will be required that this addendum be signed in acknowledgment of receipt and that it be included with your Bid when same is submitted to Laurinda Micheels, Contracts Specialist, Bureau of Design and Construction, 3800 Commonwealth Blvd., MS #520, Tallahassee, Florida, 32399-3000. Failure to do so may be grounds for rejection of the Bid. _______________________________________ Signature of Contractor and Date The following statements supersede & supplement the corresponding items in the specifications & drawings: 1. Question: How much of the asphalt needs to be removed? Answer: 1.5” thickness across all areas indicated in the plans 2. Question: Is the intention to have the asphalt milled? If so, what is the asphalt thickness to be milled? Answer: Yes, 1.5” 3. Question: If we are not re-working the base, why do we have to compact it? Answer: It is not compacted on areas of milling. 4. Question: In detail 3, would the existing base need to be re-compacted if it is not disturbed? Answer: No 5. Question: Is the base bid just for the North side entrance & parking area? Answer: Yes 6. Question: Does the parking lot need to be restriped after paving? Answer: Yes 7. Question: Do the bumper stops need to be replaced after paving? Answer: Yes, new bumpers are required. 8. Question: Where are the pipe and headwall located? Answer: Sheet C113, on the North side 9. Question: Which phase is this for? Answer: There are no phases; there are base bid and alternates, as follows: Base Bid: to repair the North-side drainage, associated parking lot, existing pavement, associated repair impacts from erosion, and improve aesthetics per the contract documents. Alternate #1: to repair the South-side entrance road per the contract documents. Alternate #2: to repair the West-side tram road and associated parking lot per the contract documents. Alternate #3: to repair the East-side tram road and associated parking lot per the contract documents. 10. Question: Is this for paving the entire park or only some sections? Answer: The base bid does call for paving of the North side. The alternates, if chosen, will dictate the other sections of the park’s road to be paved. 11. Question: Is there any Drainage or pipe work associated with this? Answer: Yes, see plans sheet C113. 12. Question: Will the broken asphalt at the North Station be required to be replaced? Answer: Yes, see plans. 13. Question: How deep must the base work be replaced and will density be required to be achieved prior to paving? Answer: Edge rebuild and pothole full depth will require base and subbase replacement. Yes, density testing is required – see note sheet G102, #55: Contractor is responsible for all density testing. Base, subgrades, and asphalt shall be tested in accordance with FDOT Standard specifications sections 120, 200, and 300. 14. Question: What kind of base is there now? Answer: See Geotech report. In all other respects, the contract documents of which this is an Addendum, and attachments relative thereto, shall remain in full force and effect.
