Description
The Centre Intégré Universitaire de Santé et Services Sociaux (CIUSSS) du Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean is responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of the region's population through the provision of adapted and accessible services. The various mission-related systems place increasing demands on storage and performance in order to maintain adequate service levels. The storage switches supporting these environments are aging and will no longer be supported in the near future.
The Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean regional health and social services network comprises 62 facilities, including six hospitals, a youth center and a rehabilitation center for intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorders (DITSA). Each includes several points of service. The organization also has a university mission. All of the region's facilities are connected to the secure telecommunications network specific to the health and social services sector, the Réseau intégré de télécommunication multimédia (RITM).
The region has a regional computer processing center (CTI) on two sites, one at Hôpital de Chicoutimi and the other at Hôpital d'Alma. The storage systems at these sites are interconnected via a fabric-configured storage area network (SAN) for redundancy. The Chicoutimi and Alma regional ITCs host over 150 physical servers and 800 virtual servers.
In order to keep our systems running smoothly and optimize costs, while ensuring the security of our current and future needs, CIUSSS Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean wishes to acquire replacement equipment, including a minimum of two in each fabric for each ITC.
