Description

This Request for Prequalification (“RFPQ”) is an invitation by The Corporation of the Town of The Blue Mountains (the “Town”) to prospective respondents to qualify for General Contractors, Mechanical Subcontractors, and Electrical Subcontractors for Upgrades to the Craigleith and Mill Street Sewage Pump Stations, as further described in Section A of the RFPQ Particulars (Appendix A) (the “Deliverables”).The Town is seeking to identify and shortlist, up to five (5) experienced and qualified of each General Contractor, Mechanical and Electrical Subcontractors. Shortlisted Respondents will be invited to submit a tender for the Craigleith and Mill Street SPS Upgrades project. The Town is undertaking upgrades to the Craigleith and Mill Street sewage pump stations (SPS) to increase their current rated capacities. The Craigleith SPS is located on 236 Lakeshore Road East, Blue Mountains. The Mill Street SPS is situated on the corner of Mill Street and Bay Street E, Thornbury.  The projects will be tendered separately, this prequalification will be used for both tenders. The Craigleith SPS is the main sewage pumping station servicing sanitary collection system of the Craigleith sanitary catchment, discharging directly to the Craigleith Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). It currently contains one inlet channel grinder, two pumps (1 duty, 1 standby) and two chamber wet wells. The station is connected via two 300 mm diameter forcemains, to the Craigleith WWTP.The Mill Street SPS services the Town of Thornbury, collecting a portion of the sanitary catchment of Thornbury and surrounding area, through an existing wetwell and a pair of sewage pumps and appurtenances.  The sanitary pumping station discharges directly to the Thornbury Wastewater Treatment Plant.The Blue Mountains is Canada’s second fastest growing municipality and serves as home to over 9,300 full-time residents, with an extensive part-time and seasonal population.
