Description

This Request for Quotations (the “RFQ”) is an invitation by the Regional Municipality of Niagara (“Niagara Region”) to prospective respondents to submit quotations for 2024-Q-204 Detailed Design Services for Declassified Valve Chamber at Garner Rd Biosolids Facility, as further described in Section A of the RFQ Particulars (Appendix B) (the “Deliverables”). The Garner Road Biosolids Facility (GRBF) is located at 8719 Chippawa Creek Road in the City of Niagara Falls. The GRBF receives waste from twelve (12) Regional Water-Wastewater (W-WW) facilities. At the GRBF, biosolids are settled, thickened, and processed for land application or other uses. The supernatant liquid is discharged into the collection system through a 150 mm forcemain that runs southeast from the facility to Chippawa Creek Road. This assignment involves designing a Declassified Valve Chamber with ventilation system at the Garner Road Biosolids Facility (GRBF) on the existing 150 mm forcemain. The Region plans to install HydroFlow® i190, a Metso® Total Solids Transmitter, and a Flowmeter in the new Declassified Valve Chamber. The purpose of the above equipment is to mitigate the scaling challenges in the forcemain, effective management of sludge passing through the forcemain and collect flow data respectively. All three devices require a constant supply of electrical power to operate and monitor the outputs of the devices. This RFQ is being issued to a subset of the Successful Roster Listing developed from Contract 2023-RFSQ-184 specifically Category 11.
