James took up his post in the Philippines in January 2023. Previously, he was the Director of Exports for Asia Pacific where he acted as strategic advisor to His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner and headed up the UK’s Export Support Service in the region. He also served as DBT’s Head of Exports Performance, responsible for the strategy, performance, data and governance of UK exports promotion; set up the DBT’s Export Support Service, Trade Advisory Groups, and authored the UK’s Export Strategy.
