Description
On the 13th December 2024, the EU General Product Safety Regulations came into force, having far-reaching implications for multiple actors within a product’s supply chain.
The regulation aims to ensure the safety of goods not covered by existing EU standards and CE marking, including some already regulated but not when sold online or via distance sales. It is comprehensive, covering new products on the EU market as well as second-hand, repaired, reconditioned, or recycled items.
Most UK exporters of consumer goods to the EU will be affected, so understanding obligations, preparation, and compliance is crucial.
