The Caribbean region is focused on growth and development across a wide range of sectors.

Total trade in goods and services (exports plus imports) between the UK and CARIFORUM was £5.0 billion, in the four quarters to the end of Q2 2024.

Most Caribbean countries have set ambitious renewable energy and sustainable development targets and are exploring partnerships with international players to achieve these goals. These goals are unlocking robust opportunities for UK firms in healthcare, infrastructure, airports, and other related good and services.

D’Jamila is an international trade policy professional with extensive experience in providing specialised advice to private sector and government officials in the Caribbean region and the UK on trade and competitiveness issues. Particular policy interests include trade and development, export promotion and private sector development.

Sherwyn Naughton

Country Director – Guyana & Suriname, Department for Business and Trade (DBT), Guyana

Sherwyn is a trade specialist with expertise in international trade policy and business development. He has 20 years of experience advising governments and private enterprises on trade negotiations and turning market access into market presence.

Hodari Stewart

Country Director – Jamaica, Department for Business and Trade (DBT)

Hodari is an International Trade and Business Development Professional with over fifteen combined years of senior-level experience in FDI and trade promotions, strategic management, marketing and media communication, project management, and lead generation.

Giselle Roberts

Giselle has over 15 years of experience in strategic business development, with a passion for international trade which stems from her academic background in Economics and Communication Studies, and MBA with a specialization in Marketing. Leeooi-Oneika is an International Trade and Business Development Professional with eight years' of experience specifically focused on connecting businesses with key stakeholders in global markets and supporting companies in understanding the economic and trade policy landscape of the Caribbean.

Avril Purcell-Johnson

Trade and Investment Officer – Jamaica, Department for Business and Trade (DBT)

Avril is an accomplished International Relations and Business Development Professional with 15 years of experience in enhancing customer experiences. She is the Agritech sector lead for the English-speaking Caribbean. Avril’s extensive expertise ensures that businesses receive the support they need to achieve their international growth objectives.

Shane has over a decade of experience in, designing and executing projects in a wide variety of fields, including but not limited to Trade Policy, Competition Policy, Fintech, Agribusiness, and Data Analysis.

Janelle is a seasoned Trade Policy professional with over eight years’ experience in navigating complex international trade regulations and Agreements.
