In this session, Alasdair Ross, Head Tutor for the Economist Education’s course on international relations and an expert on global risks, will analyse the main geopolitical trends currently influencing trade and globalisation.

He will focus on the pivotal US-China rivalry, examine conflict in Ukraine and the Middle East, and explore deep-seated changes in technology, demographics and the global climate.

This session is designed to help you grasp the main threats facing supply chains and to navigate an uncertain world.

Alasdair Ross

Head Tutor: The New Global Order, Economist Education

Alasdair started his professional career as a foreign correspondent in Latin America for publications including the Daily Telegraph and Independent. After completing a master's degree in Economics at the University of London, Alasdair worked as an analyst at Latin American Newsletters and a business consultant at Oxford Analytica. He then joined The Economist Group in 2001. Alasdair later steered Economist Intelligence Unit through the transition from print to online, and is now Countries Editor for The World Ahead.
