Extended Producer Responsibility for packaging: what you need to know

Tuesday 13 May at 10:00AM

Are you looking to sell your goods or services to Germany? Don't miss out on this webinar where we will talk you through how to be compliant with the mandatory EPR environmental legislation that you need to adhere to.

What you’ll learn

  • Understand the scope and requirements of the EPR for packaging regulations, including which businesses are affected and compliance thresholds
  • Learn how to assess your organisation's obligations, calculate fees, and implement effective data collection systems
  • Develop strategies to minimise packaging waste and optimise packaging design to reduce environmental impact and compliance costs

Description

The UK's Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for packaging regulations represent one of the most significant changes to waste management regulation in decades. The EPR system aims to increase packaging recycling rates to over 70% by 2030.

From 1 January 2025, EPR is enforced in Germany, meaning as a business, you take full responsibility of the life-cycle of your products that you introduce into the German market - from manufacturing to disposal.

In this session we will help you understand the EPR regulations; your obligations as a producer or handler of packaging; practical compliance strategies, and how to ensure your packaging is more environmentally sustainable.

Non-compliance with EPR can result in significant financial penalties and reputational damage - don't let that be you!
