Description
The new EU General Product Safety Regulation (EU GPSR) 2023/988 will apply from 13 December 2024, having been in transition since 12 June 2023. Replacing the General Product Safety Directive and Food Imitation Directive, it places greater emphasis on risk assessment; modernises the EU general product safety framework; and addresses the new challenges posed to product safety by the digitalisation of our economies.
The General Product Safety Regulations (GPSR) in the EU and UK are fundamental to ensuring the safety of consumer goods within these markets. These regulations cover a wide variety of non-food products, which are not wholly addressed by other regulations.
Understanding the core concepts of the EU and UK General Product Safety Regulations is crucial to bringing a safe product to the European market. In this webinar, we will cover:
- responsibilities, the roles and obligations the regulation specifies
- what labelling is required
- how businesses must can comply with the general safety requirements
The regulation is highly comprehensive in nature with a scope extending beyond new products placed on the EU marketplace to incorporate second-hand products or products that are repaired, reconditioned, or recycled.
