Description

The session will cover key developments in Kazakhstan in sectors such as Mining, Energy, Education, Agriculture and more. International Trade Advisers from the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) will speak about events and trade missions, and how we can help you to expand your business in Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan joined the WTO in 2015 and in 2018 launched the Astana International Finance Centre (AIFC) combining the best experience and capabilities of advanced financial centres. This includes the AIFC Court, which is independent in its activities and is not part of the judicial system of Kazakhstan. More than 550 British companies are registered in Kazakhstan, operating mainly in science, technology, trade, finance, manufacturing, mining, and logistics.

Stephen Brennan is the Deputy Director at DBT Kazakhstan based at the British Embassy in Astana. He also leads on Energy and Technology sectors and assists British companies in resolving market access barriers.
