The UK’s reputation as the global FinTech capital continues to grow from strength to strength, with the FinTech sector representing £11bn in revenue in 2019 – up from £6.6bn in 2015. Simultaneously, UK FinTechs have been able to benefit from the presence of a deep pool of international financial institutions (IFIs) across the country.
The global appeal of the UK FinTech sector continues to grow, with 82% of global financial services firms expecting to increase UK FinTech partnerships in the next 3-5 years.
To give our highly innovative UK FinTechs the best possible competitive advantage, the Department for International Trade (DIT) has partnered with Innovate Finance, City of London Corporation, Tech London Advocates and London & Partners in launching its Leading Edge Global Partnerships Programme, providing FinTechs with the platform to connect with and advance commercial dialogue with IFIs.
By signing up to the Leading Edge Global Partnerships Programme, UK FinTechs will join an international ecosystem, created in partnership with several of the UK’s leading financial industry bodies and trade associations.
Other benefits provided to UK FinTechs include:
- Being part of a global ecosystem of FinTech and international financial institutions
- Knowledge of specific FinTech use cases within IFIs
- Opportunities to be matched directly to IFIs, where demand exists, to facilitate commercial dialogue and boost your international profile
- Structured dialogue between FinTechs and IFIs, brokered by DIT
