Bompas & Parr: Innovating through radical creativity

Bompas & Parr is a creative studio made up of artists, architects, chefs, designers, marketers, strategists, and technologists. Through consultancy, Location Based Experiences (LBEs), and publications, the studio challenges the world with radical creativity and a thirst for innovation. The studio collaborates with cultural institutions, attractions, governments, developers, and brands to deliver its work.

Founded in 2007, the company has grown from just Sam Bompas and Harry Parr into a team of 30 skilled and ambitious individuals eager to generate a wide range of projects. Genre-defining projects include the world’s first multi-sensory fireworks display for London New Year’s Eve 2013. They also founded the British Museum of Food. This museum is the world’s first cultural institution exclusively dedicated to food and drink. It has published 12 books that explore humankind’s relationship with food.

Bompas & Parr works with brands such as Coca-Cola, Johnnie Walker, Mercedes, and LVMH. They also collaborate with cultural institutions like The Barbican, The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and The Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge.

The studio has delivered numerous ambitious projects at AlUla. In 2022, they held 'Forces of Nature,' a first-of-its-kind event. This event offered diners a chance to eat local produce cooked over a stream of molten lava heated to a staggering 1,350 degrees Celsius. In 2023, they launched ‘Oasis Picnic,’ inspired by the life and memory of AlUla's local people. This event celebrated the rich cultural heritage of AlUla's communities. Bompas & Parr designed environments nestled in the Oasis where guests could explore, have fun, and learn together through food and drink.
