Key projects
Expo 2020 Dubai Thematic Districts
Expo 2020 Dubai’s Thematic Districts were designed to meet the individual temporary needs of exhibitors while being flexible enough to meet legacy needs once Expo closed its doors. Eighty permanent buildings are being adapted to create a vibrant mixed-use district, achieving LEED Gold certification.
Khor Kalba Turtle and Wildlife Sanctuary
A conservation project protecting regional wildlife and biodiversity in the Indian Ocean, the sanctuary promotes biodiversity through research and education. Its facilities are designed to increase environmental awareness and support engagement with conservation programmes.
Buhais Geology Park Interpretive Centre
The Buhais Geological Park was once a rich sea bed, full of fossils, corals and prehistoric burial sites. The Interpretive Centre comprises five interlinked pods which house facilities including exhibition areas and an immersive theatre. The geometry of the pods was inspired by the fossilised urchins present on-site.
25hours Hotel Dubai
The first 25hours Hotel outside Europe, the 25hours Hotel Dubai is a hospitality offer unlike any other in the city. It contributes to the vision of a walkable Dubai, sitting at a key intersection within Hopkins’ One Central District masterplan. Seven nearby buildings collectively offer a mix of commercial, hospitality and retail experiences.
University of Birmingham, Dubai
The University’s Dubai campus integrates flexible learning spaces and sustainable design, echoing its UK counterpart while adapting to the local climate.
Hopkins Architects demonstrates its commitment to sustainability through its innovative designs and thoughtful interaction with the landscape, setting a new standard for architectural excellence in the Middle East.
