Nofence

Nofence

Founded in Norway in 2011, Nofence is the world’s first commercial virtual fencing system for livestock, serving as a sustainable alternative to traditional fencing.

Pilot customers first began using it in Norway in 2019, with the company recently surpassing 100,000 collars sold across Europe.

After commercial sales of Nofence in the UK began in 2021, the system has gained rapid popularity among UK farmers, selling 14k collars and attaining 600+ customers.

Aerones

Aerones

The Latvian company Aerones is the world’s leading provider of robotic solutions for wind turbine inspections, maintenance, and repairs.

The company achieved a significant milestone in 2024 with the successful completion of its offshore technology tests in Scotland.

This achievement marks the culmination of years of research, development, and multiple technological iterations, firmly positioning Aerones at the forefront of offshore wind turbine inspection and repair solutions.

Teltonika

Teltonika

Teltonika is a Lithuanian company group with considerable experience in the design and production of high-quality Internet of Things devices.

It specialises in manufacturing industrial networking equipment, telematics devices, telemedicine devices and electric vehicle solutions.

The company opened its first UK base in 2024, serving both the UK and Irish markets through localised support teams with plans to increase the headcount year on year.

The company’s move to the UK was supported by Manchester’s Inward Investment agency MIDAS who were initially approached by the Department for Business and Trade to provide market and property intelligence.

Hyperion Robotics

Hyperion Robotics

Hyperion Robotics is a Finnish technology company formed by experts in engineering, construction, 3D printing and robotics.

The company combines large-scale, 3D printing with low-carbon concrete made of industrial waste materials such as mining tailings, ashes, slags and demolition waste. Their variety of sustainable infrastructure products include foundations, water tanks, trenches and buildings.

In 2023, Hyperion Robotics, working in collaboration with Tarmac and Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB), created four 3D printed versions of a drawpit to replace standard applications at Yorkshire Water’s largest sewage treatment works in Esholt, near Leeds.

In 2024, the project won the Yorkshire & Humber Award on net-zero at the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) setting new standards in lowering the carbon footprint of the region.
